Jo‐Anne commenced her career in the real estate industry in 1995 with a leading residential executive leasing agency. An unexpected transfer to Papua New Guinea presented Jo‐Anne the opportunity to undertake further studies in Real Estate and whilst furthering her study she undertook a feasibility study for a large PNG National Company on their commercial property holdings. Jo‐Anne returned to Australia following a year in Christchurch, New Zealand where she finished her studies and continued advancing in her chosen career while working in sales in the Canterbury Region. She quickly advanced from salesperson to personal assistant and then to one of the New Zealand South Island’s leading Sales Consultants. A promotion that not only highlighted her commitment and dedication to the industry but also one that offered her the opportunity to gain even more insight and experience.
When Jo‐Anne returned to Brisbane, Australia with her family she hit the ground running securing a position with a leading Brisbane real estate agency. Being employed as a Property Manager, Jo‐Anne’s Principal recognized the unique qualities she has and promoted her to the position of Divisional Manager. At the same time, Jo‐Anne completed her studies and became a fully accredited licensed real estate agent.
During her time as Divisional Manager, Jo‐Anne was recognized by her industry peers on several occasions and in 2003 was presented with the REIQ Property Manager of the Year Award for Excellence. In the six years with this agency, Jo‐Anne achieved awards in 2001, 2002 and 2003 for State Property Manager ‐ Leading Agents of Australia and was awarded by tmp.worldwide the 2001 Leading Agents of Australia National Property Manager of the Year and 2001 Team Player of the Year. For a number of years as Divisional Manager, Jo‐Anne held the award for achieving the highest weekly rental return on a residential property. Jo‐Anne was an industry leader and quickly gained the reputation as Brisbane’s executive leasing specialist, consistently achieving excellent returns on prestigious property. Jo‐Anne developed a relocation service through her property management division and this service was adopted Australia‐wide by the Leading Agents of Australia.
Jo‐Anne was elected to the REIQ Property Management Chapter in 2002 and served on the committee for two years. She was also on the Property Chapter Committee for the Leading Agents of Australia and was a guest presenter at their annual conferences. She has also been a guest presenter at several industry forums including Australasian Best Practice Property Management Conference, Sydney and Far North Queensland Property Management Expo 2003.
In 2003, Jo‐Anne successfully completed a course in Commercial & Retail Property Management. Jo‐Anne finished the year by being offered a position with Freeman Fox Financial Services Company as their Manager, Property and Queensland Licensee.
Whilst still in rehabilitation after a serious accident breaking her back in two places, Jo‐Anne was offered and accepted a position with Harcourts Queensland Real Estate franchise group as their Head of Operations and Development for Property Management. Jo‐Anne’s assignment when employed was to create and develop a ‘leading edge’ property management systems and training for all of the offices in Queensland. Her mandate was to optimize property management teams in terms of maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability whilst at the same time ensuring brand consistency, awareness and standards and to grow market share. Jo‐Anne Oliveri was often referred to as the property management ‘Guru’ and was acknowledged by her teams across Queensland as being motivational, inspirational and extremely hard working to re‐engineer and rejuvenate a ‘misunderstood’ industry.
Her personal mission statement was ‘Empowering business owners and their property management teams to maximize profitability returns’. A mission she accomplished by her management style and vision for the industry. All of the management systems and training developed were adopted throughout Harcourts on a National and International scale.
During her time at Harcourts, Jo‐Anne was accepted to undertake training at the Disney Institute in Anaheim, California. She graduated as a Disney Alumni and immediately started ‘Disneyfying’ the property management industry through the introduction of client service standards; codes of client service; recognition awards and property annual service plans. Two other outstanding initiatives achieved at Harcourts was, firstly the Property Management Fellowship she created. This involved identifying and selecting a team of passionate committed property managers and business owners and creating leaders of the future for the property management industry. The second imitative was as a result of the Fellowship success, Jo‐Anne identified another talented group of individuals that also required specialized nurturing and developing ‐ the S.T.A.R.S. (Synergized. Tenacious. Achieving. Resourceful. Supernovas) Program. The S.T.A.R.S are new recruits in the industry who have demonstrated passion, desire, commitment and drive. The program was designed to encapsulate their eagerness to achieve and develop them into future leaders of the industry.
Whilst at Harcourts, Jo‐Anne was applauded by senior management including the Managing Director of Harcourts International for orchestrating and hosting a 2 day Property Management Symposium with international key note speakers and alliance partners who were eager to take part in the inaugural event. This event was hailed by all stakeholders as a huge success and as a result is now a regular conference in the Harcourts annual events calendar.
Jo‐Anne resigned from Harcourts to launch her own business irevilOution Intelligence – Property Management Solutions and ‘Purple Penguin’ and to focus on the continuing growth and development of Leading Agents of the World. Jo‐Anne’s career achievements are testimony not only to the knowledge and dedication of the real estate industry but to her honest and ethical approach to everything she undertakes.
During the past 6 years, Jo‐Anne has spent considerable amount of time in Australia, United States of America and Canada fostering and cultivating close business contacts and networks. Due to her wide range of contacts in the real estate industry, Jo‐Anne has made direct contact with numerous high profile industry leaders and company CEOs.
Recently, Jo‐Anne has initiated meetings with CEOs and Business Proprietors such as Grahame and Kelly Hill of Safety Watch Australia; John Dalzial and Ricky Gatty of Agree Air; Ian Buchanan of Heron Todd White; Phil McGuinness of Sherlock. These people are leaders in affiliated services to property management and shared a great deal of information and data, thus providing Jo‐Anne with a good perspective of the market. All parties were enthusiastic about her proposal and action plan.
After comprehensive research, extensive networking and continually creating partnerships and professional business relationships in Australia and overseas, Jo‐Anne has decided (and is very excited and confident by the prospect) to launch her own business.
